Last Saturday I watched 2012 with my cousins. The movie was alright, I expected a happy ending and it was. There were a lot of special effects and such, so at the back of my mind I was wondering how the actors and actresses could put with  working with a lot of blue screens. Amazing. Haha.

Following up on the Photoshop World conference, it was really good. Too bad I had to leave early due to a lesson. I really wanted to stay and listen more good stuff. The main speaker Russel Brown showed us quite a number of tricks and techniques that I never knew existed in Photoshop!

I got some really awesome goodies. One is this ‘The Russel Brown Show’ cd, and it has all the tutorials that was done by him. I’ve only watched one tutorial so far. And the other thing I got was a laptop screen wiper from Adobe PhotoshopWorld 09.

For the past 3-4 weeks I’ve been busy with the final year project (FYP) and also the graduation showcase. Being art director is not easy. With great power, comes great responsibility. Haha. Quoted from Spiderman.

I am also currently crazy over podcast and audio books on iTunes. I never bothered to explore and find out more about them. However, when I found this link from the internet and it was an audio book download for iTunes, it got me interested.

I am attending Photoshop World tomorrow, thanks to my former internship boss. He invited me to join with the rest of the people from the company. I feel excited but sad too, cause I will have to leave early due to school. The more interesting topics are covered in the afternoon, so I guess I have no choice but to miss it. I really wish a miracle would happen so I can stay.

Oh yeah, I got a new PC game today. Thanks to Azli. I have not started playing though, wasn’t in the mood.

So school started yesterday, but I feel the same because I’ve been going back to school amost every week during the holidays. Oh wait, was it even really holidays? My parents kept asking how come I have to go to school even when its the holidays. Hence, thats when I have to start explaining about FYP, why I have to be there etc.

And like all other mothers of friends that I know of, my mother questioned me about working during the long break. My reply was obviously no. I have only how many months left till I graduate… (And the idea of graduating sounds fun yet scary). So why bother making myself worked up and busy with outside work now? I’d rather spend the rest of my days as a student fully and happily. I sound so melodramatic. I know.

I have yet to post up pictures to show what I’ve been doing, where I went to, what I bought etc, during the past long break. I spent a lot man. Oh- no. Gotta start saving.

Oh yeah, I shook hands with the PM Lee Hsien Loong. Can u spot me? Hehe.

Dry, itchy skin. Everywhere.

I have never heard of or even known about Eczema. So when it hit me and I began to realise that I have it, I thought, ok.. everything’s under control. Visit the doctor and he’ll know what to do. It’ll be alright.

Then the doctor told me, “You have eczema. It will be with you for the rest of your life.” I replied a smile. A painful smile I guess? And continued smiling. Looked at the doctor and at my mum.

But inside, I was screaming WHAT!!.. OMG..NOOOOOOO!!!…

That visit happened about a year ago. The thing is Eczema comes and go. There’ll be a moment when I won’t be affected by it. And there’ll be a moment where it just happily decides to activate and I get so irritated. The doc says it has something to do with what I eat. So I guess it has something to do with all the accumulated junk food that I’ve eaten for the past few years.

Oh well, I’m gonna have to eat lots and lots and lots and lots of fruits and veggies. Then suddenly you’ll see me going on a so called healthy-diet in school. No more junk food for me. Bleh.

But I don’t wanna turn into a rabbit.

Hari Raya started a week ago and I’m talking about it only now. I am so late. Haha. My family has been out Hari Raya-ing for the past two days. My relatives came to visit just now.

The weather is so bloody hot today and I am sweating as I type. I don’t have much to say cause I’m kinda tired and moody right now. Its that time of the month. Hehe. I’ll probably post up some pictures tomorrow.

Funny thing is, my sister just past by and suddenly went over to the other room and place the fan beside me. So its directly facing me right now and I’m starting to cool down.

Oh yeah, lucky thing for me I was able to fast the whole month. For those who might not know, muslim girls who have hit puberty are not allowed to fast during Ramadhan (fasting month) if they’re having their period a.k.a menses for short.

For the days that they didn’t fast during the fasting month, they have to ‘pay it back’. For example, Girl A didn’t fast for 5 days during Ramadhan, so she only fasted for 25 days.

As a muslim it is compulsory for us to fast for the whole month, but we do have exceptions. So since Girl A was not able to fast fully during Ramadhan, she would have to fast for the days that she missed.

Its not common for girls around my age to be able to fast the full 30 days though, so I guess I’m considered lucky then. Oh well, Hari Raya fun is over for now. Its back to doing FYP again, as usual.

Believe it or not, but originally I disliked the idea of joining Facebook. What’s the hype and fun about facebook anyway? Isn’t it about the same as friendster. I guess it was because of the not-so-nice experience I’ve had with friendster that made me thought so. Don’t get me wrong, its not like someone made nasty comments or watsoever on my friendster page. But just that, as I surfed through friendster profiles of other friends or people, I find it funny how youngsters are these days.

I look at some of the pictures and I go “What? She’s smoking now. Ooo-kay.” “Eh? They’re together. I thought they broke up? Ah, nevermind.” “Ew, what’s up with the pictures of this couple kissing, they don’t have to show it to the whole world”, “And why the heck are all her/his pictures so random, shaky and blur. What’s the point of posting up anyway?”.

Or how they treat the comments section as the tagboard. “Hey how are u!”, “Oh, i’m okay”, “Hey you! Hahah. Teehehehehee. Thanks for adding! Don’t forget to comment me back”. Something like that, you get it. And the thing I find most common is where a person posts up pictures and pictures of him/herself. And as you keep on clicking, you just keep seeing his/her face. *So fun hor*.

Or a girl purposely posing so you can see her booby peeking. I mean, I get it that you’re so hot and you just have to show it to the whole world. But, how old are you again?

So yeah, that was how it was for me. That’s why I gave up the idea of joining other sites like Multiply, Facebook etc. I don’t despise this websites though, just don’t feel like going through the same thing all over again.

But, I do have other reasons why I didn’t want to join them. Everyone was doing it, but why should I? I just refused to follow the crowd and be a part of it. I’m a strong believer of being original and unique. So I guess that why I didn’t want to be the same.

Another reason was that I don’t find the need to tell or share with the whole world on everything about my life. Who cares anyway? Just like this post, someone will read it but eventually forget. Or maybe you just view some pictures from someone’s profile, you won’t really pay much attention to it and just forget about it anyway.

I’ve learned to ignore comments from people who kept asking me to update my blog or my profile, coz it’s my choice and I’ll choose what I’ll share with the whole world.

On a lighter note, I did eventually joined facebook after discovering how I needed to do some networking for my future career. Like possibly get to know potential clients/employers. So yeah, I joined with a purpose. And I’m proud of that. Haha.

I attended an Actionscript Conference yesterday, it was okay. Some parts were very interesting, some were a bit too advanced for me to understand so I just sat there trying to listen. I didn’t mean to be rude but I did fall asleep a couple of times. Haha. And the air-con is so bloody cold.

I intend to wear triple layers today. Top + Tudung(Hijab) + *Additional sweater

In 10 minutes time I have to meet Meow (Kathy), to go there together, so bye!

P.S: My supervisor from my internship company, Avantworks is attending too. I bumped into him yesterday. Haha. What a small world it is.

Today I played Sims for 4 hours straight. Then I learnt how to do the Dutch Braid. The inverted version of the French Braid. And now my head is dizzy. From all the staring and focusing. Haha.

A guy said he loves me. I wonder if he still does. Coz we’ve not chatted much for quite some time and it seems he has a close girl – friend that he talks about lately. Oh well, lets look on the brighter side. I’m still 19, I still have got a lot of things I can learn. And new people to meet.

The Guild Season 3

As it turns out, The Guild webisodes(short form for web episodes) on the 25th of August was a premiere xclusively for Gold and Silver members of Xbox Live. Oh well, so much for being excited for nothing. They said the new season will only be released to the other sites on the 1st Sept. Hence, I’ve been waiting all this while for the past few days. As of now, I’ve only found the first episode of Season 3 in the Msn Videos.

How was it? Well, its not fun since it was too short for me. Guess I’ll wait till  they’ve finished uploading all episodes then I’ll start watching again.

Girls Go Camping ‘09

After months and months of waiting, plannng and postponing, the camp finally happened last weekend! Yeay. One day before the camp, I was busy doing the final adjustments to the designs for the materials needed for the camp (e.g. participants booklet, certificate of participation, nametags, etc). Then I had to do printing and rush down to Bugis to buy more plastic covers. Shortly after that, I had to go to the Saff Centre to cut, spray mount, put nametags into plastic covers. Thankfully there were other sisters who helped with the work. By the time everything was done, it was already 2.30 a.m. And the best part was that, we had to wake up at 4.30 a.m shortly after that. Haha.

One of the main highlight for the camp was rock-climbing @ Dairy Farm. I expected a normal, man-made rock wall. But what I saw was not what I expected, because it was a natural rock wall that we were supposed to climb. Surprisingly, I volunteered myself to be the first person! I don’t know why but for some reason I just decided to try. I’m proud to say that I climbed quite fast and well for a beginner. Hehe. One of the more experienced sister told me that.

Other than being happy about climbing for the first time, I feel quite satisfied when others commented that they like the designs/materials I did. It seems to me that my efforts has certainly paid off.

There were more other fun stuff about the camp that happened, but I don’t feel like elaborating about them now.

Career

Lately I’ve been feeling worried about the future. I’m wondering whether should I go university then go to the industry, or the other way round. But with the current state of my family’s financial status I think its best that I go out to work and help out with my family first. But even now I still don’t feel that I’m ready for the industry. Maybe I’m just not confident of myself?

Maybe I just worry too much…

Hello hello. Ok well I guess I’m kinda late in updating. Holidays have already started. Yeay.. I was quite happy with the last exam paper – PHP. I flipped through the papers and soon realised that I’ve seen most of the questions from the textbook. This is my first time feeling happy for an exam paper in Poly, serious… Coz I could clearly see that whatever I learnt didn’t go to waste and I got excited when I found out I could answer almost all the questions.

Ok, enough of exam excitement. Now on to something that I’m addicted to currently.

This MV, Do You Wanna Date My Avatar is from the Web-Episodes: The Guild. It was 1am. I was tired, sleepy but I had to study. Then I decided to take a break, surfed the net and look around for some interesting videos on Youtube. That was when I discovered The Guild. I’ve already watched Season 1 & 2. And I can’t wait for Season 3! And its out tomorrow! YEAY.

Felicia Day, the main girl who is singing in the MV is the creator of  The Guild. I find it really amazing how she came up with the idea of the story, the script, the first website and even the lyrics to this video. I read her biography, she was involved in acting previously, but wasn’t that popular I guess. Coz I’ve never heard of her. Or maybe because she never got the more prominent roles? But, I feel inspired though, really. Her efforts have definitely not gone to waste, seeing so many local fans and donors on The Guild’s website. Also, with Microsoft supporting them now surely she’ll be more recognised in the future. You go girl! Haha. (As if she would hear me.)

Oh yeah, if you guys are interested you can watch The Guild for free on either Youtube or just google it up. Since I’m in a good mood I decided to just include the first episode here anyway. Haha.

For some reason I just feel like blogging now. Just a short one i suppose, coz my eyes are kinda droopy now. This week was exam week and I just can’t wait till the last paper ends tomorrow. Eh,no…its already Friday. So in a few hours time then, I’ll be free of any tests, exams etc.

However I’m not really looking forward to the holidays though. I still have to come back to school to do FYP stuff. Bleh. Nola, its not that I don’t like it. FYP is very the important this year you know, so I’ll be a good and responsible and hardworking member and do my work properly and diligently. Its not that I’ve not been doing a good job though. Ah well, you know what I mean.

But, maybe I’ll slack a bit? Hehehe. We’ll see.

Oh wow, I’ve not been playing Sims 3 for almost a month already. I wonder how far am I in the game right now. I think I was training my male sim to be Rock Star, while his younger sister would be in the Orchestra? I guess I’ll check it out tomorrow then. Erm, I mean later, in a few hours time.
